Wget 1.12r2

From the Free Software Foundation’s Wget home page:

GNU Wget is a free software package for retrieving files using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, the most widely-used Internet protocols. It is a non-interactive commandline tool, so it may easily be called from scripts, cron jobs, terminals without X-Windows support, etc. GNU Wget has many features to make retrieving large files or mirroring entire web or FTP sites easy…

This software is released under the GNU General Public License (version 3), and I have bundled it into a Mac OS X installer package. I am not the author, and thus cannot provide detailed technical support on the intricacies of program operation, except perhaps in the matters of installation—but please feel free to contact me with any problems that you might have.

  • Name: Wget
  • Version: 1.12
  • Last Modified: 2010-05-14
  • Compatibility: Universal Binary; requires Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) or later
  • License: GPL (v3)
  • Note: This is a command-line program and will require some familiarity with Terminal.app. This distribution of Wget 1.12 now includes a shell script, written by me and placed at /usr/share/wget/uninstall-wget.pl, to optionally uninstall the program should you decide to do so at any point.

Click here to download a very old installer, for Wget 1.10.2. This is my only Wget installer that is compatible with the ancient-but-venerable Mac OS X 10.4 (“Tiger”). This package does not include an uninstaller script. Users of Leopard and up should use the latest installer.
